Green Smoothie Monster of Love

Most people know that we are obsessed with kale. A lot of the time people have heard of kale, but they aren’t so sure about what to do with the leafy green. The long laundry list of the health benefits of kale goes on and on...packed full of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, antioxidants, fiber, and chlorophyll to name just a few. It’s good for our bones, our teeth, our digestive health, boosts our immunity, lowers cholesterol, protects us from cancer, and gives us energy.

So, we all get it, kale is fantastic.

But, what to do with it?

One of our favorite things to do with kale is to use it in a smoothie. Mhm, green drinks for breakfast are so in style and good for detoxifying your cells, regulating your bowls, and giving you a boost of energy.

And, green smoothies taste fantastic too, we promise.

Cinnamon Coconut Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 large handful of kale (or spinach)
1 cup almond milk or rice milk
1 ripe banana or 1/3 cup dates
⅓ cup coconut milk
2 Tbsp protein powder (100% pure whey or brown rice are good options...make sure the protein powder doesn’t contain artificial ingredients or sugar)
¼ tsp cinnamon

Directions:
1. Place kale and milk in the blender. Blend until smooth and green.
2. Add remaining ingredients and blend up.

Minty Coco Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 large handful of kale (or spinach)
1 cup almond milk or rice milk
1 ripe banana
⅓ cup coconut milk
1 Tbsp raw cacao powder or cocoa powder
1 drop mint essential oil (food grade) or handful fresh mint leaves

Directions:
1. Place kale and milk in the blender. Blend until smooth and green.
2. Add remaining ingredients and blend up.
