Garden Tip of the Day:

It is almost that time again- garden time.  The spring weather is approaching quickly and it is good to get ready for the planting season now.

Start daydreaming about summer.  Pick out your seeds.  Think about what sorts of veggies you will want to eat in the summer time.

Some ideas: herbs (basil, parsley, cilantro, rosemary) tomatoes leafy greens (kale, collards) cucumbers edible flowers

Recipe of the Day: White Bean Hummus Ingredients: 2 cups white beans ¼ cup olive oil 6 cloves garlic 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped ¼ tsp sea salt ⅓ cup sundried tomatoes, chopped fresh basil

Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375.  Roast the garlic cloves for 20 minutes, or until soft. 2. In a food processor blend together the white beans, olive oil, roasted garlic, rosemary, sea salt, and sundried tomatoes. 3. Serve with fresh veggies and sprinkle fresh basil on top.


Yoga Pose of the Day:

Have you been sitting for the last few hours staring at a computer screen?  Here are some easy stretches to get your blood flowing, oxygen to your brain, and relaxation for your back muscles.

1. Sit on the edge of the chair, making sure that you can feel your sits bones of the chair.  Lengthen your back, sitting up straight.  Keep your feet flat on the floor, about hip width apart. 2. Relax your shoulders, allowing your arms to hang down by your sides. 3. Inhale and lift your arms up, extending them out from your body until they are parallel to the floor. 4. Exhale and lower your arms back down to your sides. 5. Repeat 3x. 6. On the third time that your arms are parallel to the floor, keep them up.  As you exhale, twist to the left side, gazing over your left shoulder. 7. Inhale and twist back to the center. 8. Exhale and twist to the right side, gazing over your right side. 8. Repeat 3x.
