Well, it’s been a few hectic weeks over here at The Living Kitchen and we are just settling back into some semblance of normalcy.
The past few weeks have been filled with beautiful dancing, tons of maple water samplings, raw chocolate bars, good quality coffee, green living and a lot of standing.
Groovin' Two weekends ago Tamara participated in the Groove certification to become a Groove facilitator (look out for our upcoming Groove, Yoga & Dinner classes!). Groove is a type of dance that is all about feeling really good in your own body.
A few Groove truths to live by: 1. You can’t get it wrong 2. It’s not that serious 3. every BODY is different and will look and move in different ways
It is an INCREDIBLE way to exercise that is supportive of your overall health instead of just focusing on firming up your abs and tush. Plus, you get to have fun along the way, let go, and dance to some rockin’ tunes!
The Green Living Show We spent the last weekend living at the Green Living Show, where we introduced KiKi Maple Sweet Water to lots of people, as well as got to enjoy tons of samples ourselves. We thought it would be nice to introduce you to some of the wonderful products we enjoyed over the weekend.
1. Giddy YoYo Chocolate Love chocolate? We love chocolate, especially when it is made with raw, fair trade super dark chocolate. Enough said.
2. Merchants of Green Coffee Our all-time, forever favorite coffee shop in Toronto. The best ambiance, quality of coffee, and awesome staff.
3. Taste of Nature Even though we are nutritionists, sometimes we just don’t have time to cook a meal. And sometimes we are running around and are so busy that we don’t have time to sit down for a meal. That is why good, reliable snacks are so important to keep around. Taste of Nature bars are a healthy snack, made with organic, gluten free (and even kosher) ingredients. These bars are made with nuts, seeds, and yummy dried fruit. Although we try to avoid sugars as much as possible, sometimes we just want a sweet snack. These bars are sweetened with agave nectar and brown rice syrup, so eating a bar once in a while will not overload your body with refined white sugar.
4. Wholy Tea Wholy Tea is a wonderful blend of several herbs that is prepared in a light, refreshing tea. This mixture of herbs has powerful cleansing effects on the body, supporting health of the intestines and colon by assisting in the removal of toxins as well as healing the lining of the digestive tract. Keeping the intestines and colon healthy is vital for overall health and wellness of the entire body, as this is the place where nutrients are absorbed into the body as well as the place where toxins are removed from the body.
