Thanksgiving Day, We Love! and Green Tea Matcha

The Living Kitchen Wellness Group One of the most exciting things every Fall, is that we get to celebrate two Thanksgivings-  once in Canada and once in the states!  How very grateful we are.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we thought we would take a moment to remember what we are thankful for.

We are thankful for...

1. Waking up in the morning and having a warm, cozy bed. 2. Coming to work in a really cool office space. 3. Creating our own dream jobs. 4. Our bodies- for their incredible ability to know what to do (like digesting out food without us even having to know it's happening). 5. Good, loving, supportive friends. 6. Yummy, delicious, healthy, amazing food. 7. Intuition- our ability to connect to our internal knowing and guidance. 8. Soothing tea and candles. 9. Good books and cozy blankets. 10. Loving, silly, cats who love to cuddle.

Super Green Matcha Tea Latte

Green tea, matcha lattes are one of our favorite things- creamy, rich, full, and deeply satisfying!!   As holistic nutritionists, we of course wanted to make the healthiest version of the beverage...

Matcha green tea is packed full of antioxidants and powerful nutrients to support the immune system.  It is so delicious in a homemade latte.  If you want to take the nutrition benefits up another level- mix in some spirulina.  The super nutritious green powder mixes perfectly together with the green matcha tea powder.

Ingredients:

1-2 tsp matcha tea (depending on the strength you desire) ½ tsp spirulina 1.5 cups almond milk or rice milk 2 tsp honey (or sweeten to your desired amount)

Directions:

1. Bring the almond milk to a simmer. 2. Remove from heat and mix in the matcha tea, spirulina, and honey. 3. To create more “latte foam" you can blend the mixture in the blender for 30 seconds-minute.
