It's the weekend. And it's time to celebrate life! You don't need something big and huge and spectacular to happen in your life, in order to celebrate. How about celebrating the fact that you are here and breathing and experiencing all that life has to offer you? How about joyously loving delicious chocolate torte and sharing it with the people we love? While, knowing that you are nourishing and loving your body with nutrient dense food?
Chocolate Torte (gluten free and sugar free)
Ingredients: 4 eggs 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted 1/2 cup maple syrup 1/2 cup cocoa powder or raw cocoa powder 1/8 tsp sea salt 1/4 cup chocolate chips 1/4 cup carob chips (optional) 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)
Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Carefully separate the egg whites from the yolks. 3. Beat the yolks for several minutes, until very thick. Add in 1/4 cup maple syrup and beat for another 2 minutes. 4. Stir the cocoa powder into the egg yolks. Add the coconut oil and stir. 5. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until peaks form. Beat in the other 1/4 cup maple syrup. 6. Carefully fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture. Mix in the chocolate chips and carob chips. 7. Pour into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle hazelnuts over top. 8. Bake for 20 minutes, until the center is set.
