I have been meaning to write some words...a love letter being a better description, for The Living Kitchen for a while now. What stumped me was finding just the right words to do them justice. Why a love letter you may ask? Simply put, because The Living Kitchen saved my life! I am a two time cancer survivor and credit getting through treatment the second time (during which a friend referred me to them) with flying colours, to the wonderfully delicious and nutritious special food they made me to combat symptoms and side effects. Equally important is the kindness, caring, love and positive energy they infused into their recipes and into ME. They are all heart and I have referred them to clients, colleagues, friends and relatives with great enthusiasm. I am now super healthy and cancer-free. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

When I met with the Living Kitchen, I was rapidly losing weight (down to 139 at my lowest point) and suffering from constant indigestion, as I had been for the better part of the year. With the help of a gastro-intestinal specialist supervising my medical treatment and the Living Kitchen handling all aspects of my diet, I was not only able to regain 35 pounds but in the process reduced both my cholesterol and blood pressure to very normal levels, and completely eliminate the need for medication.

What’s more the discomfort went away and I feel great. It is my belief that if I had not met her, none of this would have been possible. She has provided a nutritional program that I now consider one of the foundations to my longterm good health and I am fortunate to have her as an adviser and friend.

Tamara handled the group beautifully on Saturday and they were a tough crowd to start so kudos! I suspected there would be some resistance re: white bread and pasta but I think that cooking together was fun and then the fact that the food was so delicious helped to convince them that eating well doesn’t have to be bland. Even Evette (the caterer) learned that you can make food taste well using pesto-like dressings. We achieved what we had hoped.

Working with the Living Kitchen has changed my life! They helped me completely change my diet and alter my health. I suffered from severe fatigue and their recipes, constant support and cooking demo have helped create lasting changes for me and my family. Thank you!

I took part in the 30-day nutrition challenge and what I enjoyed the most was seeing a new take on old ingredients. I like fruits and vegetables, but I always seem to eat the same ones over and over (hello broccoli, carrots and spinach!) so to receive a full month of meal plans and recipes complete with grocery lists was fantastic!

More than one of the recipes now make regular appearances on our table, especially the “stir fried” vegetables and protein - I add prawns and scallops for the protein). Thank you for expanding my veggie horizons!

The food was SO delicious and we got many, many compliments. It is always nice to find catering that is tasty and healthful. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

The food was absolutely amazing and a perfect match for the event. With 60 women in attendance who either had cancer or were at significantly increased risk, your healthy, delicious, nourishing food was much appreciated.

I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the 30 Day Nutrition Challenge. At first I was skeptical about being able to complete the entire program but having the weekly grocery list already planned out for me and trying out new, delicious, easy to prepare recipes helped me stay on track.

I especially liked the fact that as a vegan, the recipes offered choices. For example, instead of using chicken, the recipe offered me other choices such as tofu, tempeh or white beans. It was great to be able to tailor my meals to my dietary requirements.

As a result of the 30 Day Nutrition Challenge, I have improved my overall health, I feel more vibrant throughout the day and I’ve expanded my cooking repertoire to include some really awesome dishes (hello moroccan chickpea stew!). I will definitely be signing up for another Living Kitchen Wellness course!
